Former driver Chase Pistone, who followed his family’s racing legacy and built a career in stock car competition, has died at the age of 42. His brother, Nick Pistone, shared the news in a public Facebook post expressing grief over the loss. Legends Nation later confirmed his death. No cause of death has been released.
Pistone competed in several national racing series, including the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the NASCAR Xfinity Series and the ARCA Menards Series. During the late 2000s and early 2010s, he made starts in Truck and Xfinity competition and raced on short tracks throughout the Southeast. In later years, he focused on mentoring young drivers through his Legends and Late Model racing programs.
In a statement shared on social media, Legends Nation described Pistone as both a skilled competitor and a dedicated team owner whose organization frequently contended for wins. Members of the racing community also paid tribute, including Brian Murphy of RFK Racing, who remembered Pistone as a talented racer and mentor committed to developing the next generation of drivers.
Pistone was the grandson of Tom Pistone, a former NASCAR Cup Series driver who won two races in 1959.
