Musk Calls for Impeachment of Judge, Alleging Corruption in Fiery Social Media Post

Multi-billionaire Elon Musk has taken a bold stand against what he calls corruption within the federal judiciary. In a series of incendiary posts on X (formerly Twitter), Musk lashed out at U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer. The judge recently issued a preliminary injunction blocking the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from accessing key U.S. Treasury data. Musk views this ruling as part of a broader pattern of judicial overreach that hampers efforts to root out government waste and fraud.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, did not mince words in his criticism of Judge Engelmayer. He accused the judge of siding with bureaucratic interests rather than supporting transparency and accountability. Musk called the ruling an “outright attack on the American taxpayer” and claimed the judge was obstructing efforts to eliminate fraud in government programs.

The controversy stems from DOGE’s efforts to audit federal expenditures. The agency, created to improve efficiency and reduce waste, sought access to Treasury Department records to investigate financial mismanagement. Judge Engelmayer’s injunction halted this, ruling that DOGE’s request exceeded its legal mandate and posed privacy risks. Musk and others argue that the ruling shields corrupt practices from scrutiny.

Supporters of the judge’s ruling emphasize legal and constitutional concerns. Legal analysts argue that DOGE may not have the statutory authority to access Treasury records without proper oversight. Musk’s criticism sparked intense debate, with some supporting his call for government accountability, while others warned it could erode trust in the judiciary. The case is set to proceed through the appeals process, and the outcome could set an important precedent.
