Dr. Anthony Fauci had his government security detail revoked Thursday afternoon, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.Fauci was protected by private security that was paid for by the government, but now has hired his own security detail following the cancellation.Trump said such security detail only pertained to current government employees.
“You can’t have a security detail for the rest of your life because you work for the government,” he told reporters.
Fauci has received threats since the pandemic from harsh critics.
