The primary suspect in the homicide of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson on December 4th is Luigi Mangione, who was brought up in an affluent family in Maryland.Mangione, a Baltimore County native, achieved the distinction of valedictorian at the prestigious Gilman School in 2016. In his graduation speech, he acknowledged the significant sacrifices made by parents to provide their children with the opportunity to attend the institution.
On December 9, just five days after Thompson was fatally shot outside a hotel in Manhattan, Mangione was apprehended at a McDonald’s in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and subsequently charged with murder.
