Have you ever wondered what TV hosts do behind the scenes? Well, a recent incident caught Fox News host Sean Hannity in the act. While he thought his show was on a commercial break, he was actually caught on camera using a vaporizer, commonly known as a vape.
Vapes are used by many people to consume tobacco, but they have also gained popularity among marijuana smokers. The availability of vape cartridges in states where marijuana is legalized has made it easier for people to use these devices for both purposes.
Hannity had the misconception that he had enough time during the break to take a hit from his vaporizer. However, as the cameras turned back on, he was caught red-handed vaping on live television. A member of the show’s set managed to get his attention, and Hannity quickly put away the vape and continued with the program.
Despite his efforts to downplay the incident, other Fox News hosts wasted no time in teasing Hannity about being caught in the act. Laura Ingraham, a fellow presenter, called it “cute” and humorously pretended to check if she was on camera while taking a sip from a water bottle. She playfully remarked, “It happens to the best of us, Hannity. I mean, those little moments are cute, those are in the forever reel of the real Hannity — like, we want to know you.”
The incident also sparked discussions on social media. Curtis Houck, a Twitter user, humorously compared Hannity’s vape moment to Gutfeld’s infamous peeing incident. People on Twitter also highlighted the irony of Hannity being a well-known supporter of former President Trump, who opposed marijuana legalization. They called out Hannity’s hypocrisy, considering his public stance against trying marijuana.
It is worth noting that Hannity was vaping a Juul brand product, which is different from e-cigarettes commonly used by tobacco smokers. In May 2018, Hannity informed his audience that he would never try marijuana but was open to vaping nicotine products.
Since the incident, Hannity has not publicly commented on the vape incident. However, he did tweet in 2017 about being open to medical marijuana if it helped a loved one or friend suffering from serious illness and pain. But since then, he has remained silent on the topic.
While it’s unclear whether Hannity was using tobacco or marijuana products during this incident, the fact that he was using a vape on set has sparked outrage on social media. People are quick to criticize Hannity for engaging in the same behavior as pot smokers.
