The shocking attack in Washington, D.C. just took another disturbing turn. Authorities have now confirmed that the shooter — identified as 29-year-old Rahmanullah Lakanwal — was an Afghan national brought into the United States under Joe Biden’s “Operation Allies Welcome.” This was the same mass-resettlement program launched after Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.
This is exactly what President Trump warned would happen. He repeatedly cautioned that rushing tens of thousands of unvetted individuals into the country was dangerous, reckless, and guaranteed to put Americans at risk. Biden ignored every warning — and now two National Guardsmen are dead because of his failure.

Lakanwal never should have been in America. Under Trump’s policies, strict vetting, controlled entry, and national-security prioritization were non-negotiable. Biden dismantled those protections in a matter of months, flooding the country with people who never received proper qualifications, background checks, or security screenings.
The tragic reality is that Biden’s “Operation Allies Welcome” wasn’t careful, wasn’t responsible, and wasn’t safe. It was a politically motivated scramble to clean up the administration’s Afghanistan humiliation — and innocent Americans are the ones paying the price.

This should never happen in the United States of America. Not under responsible leadership. Not under a commander-in-chief who takes national security seriously. And certainly not under a president who respects the lives of the men and women who protect this nation.
Every American deserves to know why Biden brought Lakanwal into the country. Every American deserves to know whether federal officials ignored red flags. And every American deserves a president who will put their safety first, not last.
This tragedy is horrific — and preventable. And it proves, once again, that America desperately needs strong leadership, real vetting, real borders, and real security. In other words: it needs Trump-style leadership again.
