Donald Trump and Elon Musk claimed victory on a new Voter ID law in Wisconsin despite Republican Supreme Court candidate Brad Schimel losing to Democrat Susan Crawford.
Tesla CEO and DOGE leader Musk and his groups spent over $20 million to help Schimel, 60, the Wisconsin attorney general from 2015 to 2019, to shift the balance of the bench, according to reports.
A little more than an hour after the polls closed in the state AP projected that the Democrat would win the contest.
Trump and Musk have yet to comment on Schimel’s defeat but have instead directed attention to voters decision to enshrine the state’s voter ID law in the state constitution.
‘VOTER I.D. JUST APPROVED IN WISCONSIN ELECTION. Democrats fought hard against this, presumably so they can CHEAT,’ Trump wrote in a post to Truth Social.
‘This is a BIG WIN FOR REPUBLICANS, MAYBE THE BIGGEST WIN OF THE NIGHT. IT SHOULD ALLOW US TO WIN WISCONSIN, LIKE I JUST DID IN THE PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION, FOR MANY YEARS TO COME!’
Musk quoted a post on X confirming the Voter ID victory and simply exclaimed: ‘Yeah!’
