Democrats believe that she “best reflects” the “core values” of the party.

According to a CNN survey released over the weekend, Democrats and Independents who lean Democratic were asked to name the party leader who “best reflects the core values of the Democratic Party.”

10% of respondents said Ocasio-Cortez, 9% said former Vice President Kamala Harris, 8% said Senator Bernie Sanders, and 6% said House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

Former President Barack Obama and Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett both netted 4% of the vote. Numerous other names came in with 2% of the vote and 1%.

26% of respondents said that they have no opinion on the matter, 5% responded with non-names, and 5% simply said nobody.

The poll comes during a period of upheaval for the Democratic Party as it works to forge a path forward after Trump’s disastrous electoral victory. America needs a strong Democratic Party now more than ever.

As for AOC, she has carved a path to the top of the party by being fearless in her outspoken criticisms of Donald Trump’s fascist administration.

She has called for Democrats to oppose the Republican spending bill on the grounds that it cuts crucial funding and further empowers Trump to gut the federal government.

Ocasio-Cortez is a voice of moral authority against the most immoral president in our history. We are lucky to have her leading the charge for democracy.
