Nobody sang, “God Bless America” better than Kate Smith

Dean Martin and Kate Smith performed a medley of American favorites on “The Dean Martin Show,” in one of his most patriotic performances.

A chorus of singers and dancers in red, white, and blue costumes opened the show. Renowned actors Mickey Rooney, Norm Crosby, and Barbara Eden joined Dean and Kate. Barbara Eden donned a pink dress, Kate Smith wore a sequined red and black gown, and the three men were dressed in tuxedos.
Dean and Kate opened the show with “Yankee Doodle Dandy,” then the others joined in for “My Old Kentucky Home.” The stage was crowded with singers and dancers as the medley moved to “You’re a Grand Old Flag.” The crowd praised it, and Dean moved
