The U.S. Secret Service has responded to a disturbing segment aired by Iranian state media that appeared to place a bounty on Barron Trump, the youngest son of President Donald Trump. Spokesman Nate Herring stated on Tuesday that the agency is aware of the video and investigates anything that can be perceived as a threat toward its protectees. He added that, out of concern for operational security, the Secret Service does not discuss matters of protective intelligence.
The nearly three-minute video was broadcast over the weekend by IRIB, a state media outlet aligned with hardliners whose leadership is appointed by Iran’s supreme leader. It was also reportedly aired on the IRGC-linked Channel 3. The segment opens with an English-language graphic reading “Where to kill Barron Trump?!” or a similar variation of the phrase.
In the video, the 20-year-old is explicitly labeled a “target.” It features stylized graphics highlighting locations where he is publicly known to spend time, including Trump Tower in New York and a Washington address associated with New York University, specifically references to dormitories at NYU’s Constance Milstein & Family Global Academic Center.
Multiple outlets, including The Jerusalem Post and The New York Post, reported that they could not independently locate the original video on Channel 3’s official platforms. They were also unable to verify the surveillance claims, account details, or the reported bounty. The Secret Service has confirmed it is aware of the material and continues to investigate threats against those under its protection.
This marks the first time Barron Trump has been publicly singled out in this specific manner by Iranian media. Iranian outlets have previously targeted First Lady Melania Trump with similar content, including a video titled “Where to Kill Melania?” that concluded with a reference to Barron.
A federal law enforcement source speaking to CNN described the latest video as part of a broader Iranian campaign of content directed at President Trump and his family. Some of that material has included movement details and suggestions aimed at family members.
