JUST IN: Iran Violated Ceasefire, Launched Missiles At U.S. Assets

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) confirmed Thursday that American forces carried out defensive operations after multiple Iranian attack drones were launched near the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week. The incident marks another escalation in tensions in the strategically important region, where global shipping routes remain under close military monitoring.

According to reports citing Pentagon officials, Iranian forces launched several one-way attack drones toward a U.S. commercial vessel operating near the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday night. U.S. military personnel successfully intercepted and destroyed the drones before they reached their target, preventing damage or casualties.

Military officials also stated that U.S. forces later targeted an Iranian ground control station located in Bandar Abbas, a major port city on Iran’s southern coast. The strike reportedly disrupted preparations for an additional drone launch that officials believed posed a continued threat to regional security and commercial shipping activity.

In a public statement released Thursday morning, CENTCOM said Iranian forces also launched a ballistic missile toward a U.S. installation in Kuwait. Kuwaiti defense systems successfully intercepted the missile, and no injuries or damage were reported. CENTCOM described the drone launches and missile activity as serious violations of the current ceasefire arrangement between the two sides.

The Strait of Hormuz remains one of the world’s most critical maritime trade routes, handling a significant share of global oil shipments. Regional tensions have remained high since fighting intensified earlier this year, with both the United States and Iran accusing each other of actions that threaten stability and navigation in the area.

Despite the latest military exchange, diplomatic discussions aimed at reducing tensions are reportedly still ongoing. President Donald Trump has previously stated that future stability in the region depends on progress regarding Iran’s nuclear program and guarantees of safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz. Officials from several countries continue to monitor developments closely as negotiations and security operations move forward.
