The vote was 47-53, mainly along party lines except for John Fetterman, who joined with Republicans and Rand Paul who voted with Democrats
The U.S. Senate voted 53–47 to reject a Democratic-led measure aimed at blocking the Trump administration’s military strikes on Iran. The vote largely followed party lines.
One notable exception was Sen. John Fetterman, a Democrat, who voted with Republicans against the measure. Sen. Rand Paul, a Republican, voted with Democrats in support of the effort.
The proposal sought to limit or halt U.S. military action related to the strikes, with supporters arguing Congress should assert its authority over war powers. Opponents of the measure said the administration’s actions fell within the president’s constitutional authority.
With the resolution failing to secure enough votes, the administration’s policy on the Iran strikes remains in place.
