In the world of fashion, it seems like there are many beautiful people. Sudanese-Ausutralian Supermodel Nyadak Thot happens to be one of them. The model has been called a lot of things in her career, but this latest comment might make you do a double-take at her.

Keep reading to know more about supermodel Nyadak ‘Duckie’ Thot.

Sudanese-Australian model Nyadak Thot is used to attention from a lot of people. She has been amassing a following for herself ever since she appeared on Australia’s Next Top Model as a teenager.

The 28-year-old model grew up in Australia and is one of six siblings. A year before her birth, her parents relocated from war-torn Sudan to Australasia in order to have better and more stable lives.

Her nickname was given to her by people in her school who had a hard time pronouncing her name hence her famous nickname was born. The stuck and became the name Duckie asked oneveryone in her life to adopt for her as well.

While her father works as a vet, her mother opts to work as a childcare worker.

Her sister, Nikki Perkins, introduced her to Catalkin. Perkins herself was a model and YouTuber. After the model finished in third place, she decided to take a big leap of faith and move to New York City to try her luck at becoming a successful model in the United States.

She signed with New York Model Management, and she made her runway debut in Kanye West’s Yeezy’s Fashion Week.

The breathtaking model has worked for brands like Moschino, Oscar de la Renta, Rihanna (Fenty x Puma), and more. The model became Rihanna’s protégé after she joined Fenty Beauty’s squad and even collaborated with makeup giant Pat McGarth.

She talked to Vogue Italia and told them her biggest dream was to be on the cover of Vogue, being a main feature for a major brand’s global campaign. And in 2018, this dream came true when she was the focal point for Pirelli’s calendar. It was themed around Alice in Wonderland. The model was showcased alongside other beautiful women, including Lupita Nyong’o, Sean Combs, Adwoa Aboah, and Naomi Campbell. The calendar was photographed by Tim Walker and styled by Edward Enninfu, who has experience as director of Vogue UK.

She was announced as the ambassador for L’Oréal Paris. The model hopes to inspire self-love and acceptance for dark-skinned girls and women. The model who herself has been said looks like a real-life Barbie doll with her glass skin and beautiful features, wants other women to accept and love themselves as well.

In 2017, she faced some bullying because of her being a black woman and because of her hair. In response, she said, “Being a black woman, we haven’t really been taught how to take care of our natural hair — we’ve only been taught how to hide it. I think hair companies, the media, hairstylists, and the industry itself are to blame.”

“They haven’t made the same efforts to ensure black women are looked after in their most natural form. If you really think about it, it’s the black women on YouTube who have really held it down with their natural hair tutorials.

I think [the industry] should really take ownership and start to invest in us.”

In an Instagram post, Duckie expressed she’s never had a good experience in dealing with her natural hair for the runway, beginning from her days as a ANTM contestant.

“I was extremely upset and embarrassed that they ‘didn’t know how’ to cornrow my natural hair when at the end of the day that’s their job. I sat in front of the mirror silently crying before my shoot doing my own hair, cameras rolling while all the other girls had hairstylists, s#it scared I was going to get eliminated because a few ‘hairstylists’ didn’t know how to do their job.”
