BREAKING: Donald Trump horrifies the world by freezing funding for the lifesaving PEPFAR program that distributes medication for HIV/AIDS in poor countries.

This is going to be disastrous for countless innocent people…

Thanks to Trump’s executive order ending the majority of foreign aid for at least 90 days, medications that are already on the shelves will not be disbursed to those in need.

Patients are already being turned away at clinics and appointments are being cancelled en masse.

“This is another domino in the devastating impact of the harmful freeze to programs, leaving lives hanging in the balance,” said Jirair Ratevosian, PEPFAR’s chief of staff under Biden.

“The partners we collaborate with are in shock, and they do not know what to do because their lifesaving mission and commitment has been breached,” said Asia Russell, the executive director of the advocacy group Health Gap.

PEPFAR was founded in 2003 by George W. Bush. With an annual budget of $6.5 billion, it has saved 26 million lives and prevented millions of infections since it’s inception. It is one of the greatest policy success stories in American history and an absolute unalloyed good.

One study found that ending PEPFAR would result in 600,000 people dying in South Africa alone over the next ten years.

But according to Trump’s State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce, the United States “is no longer going to blindly dole out money with no return for the American people.”

Innocent people will die but the MAGA crowd doesn’t care. As long as they can inflict cruelty on the world and slash away at the government, they’ll be pleased. This is what their so-called “Christian” leadership gets us.
