NEW: Veteran Fox News Anchor Quits To Join Rival Outlet

In a notable shift within the cable news industry, conservative commentator and journalist Katie Pavlich announced Monday that she is leaving Fox News to join NewsNation. The move marks the end of her more than decade-long tenure at Fox and signals NewsNation’s continued push to expand its primetime lineup with high-profile talent.

NewsNation confirmed that Pavlich will host a weeknight primetime program airing at 10 p.m. Eastern Time, set to debut in early 2026. The show will replace the time slot previously held by Ashleigh Banfield and will focus on in-depth analysis of major political and national news stories. According to the network, the program will emphasize issues such as free speech, national security, and other key policy debates shaping the country.

In a statement announcing the move, Pavlich said she is “honored to join NewsNation during this dynamic period in its development,” expressing enthusiasm for the network’s growing role in the media landscape. The new show aligns with NewsNation’s strategy to provide later-evening news analysis aimed at viewers seeking an alternative to opinion-heavy cable programming.

Before joining Fox News in 2013, Pavlich established herself in conservative media as an editor at Townhall.com and a contributing editor to Townhall Magazine. At Fox, she became a familiar face across the network, frequently appearing on programs such as The Five and Outnumbered. Over more than ten years, she served as a rotating panelist, guest co-host, and contributor to major political coverage and special events.

Pavlich’s transition comes as NewsNation, owned by Nexstar Media Group, continues rapid growth since its full rebrand in 2021. Positioning itself as a centrist alternative in a polarized media environment, the network has posted significant ratings gains, including sharp increases among total viewers and the key 25–54 demographic. NewsNation has also aggressively recruited prominent on-air talent, including Chris Cuomo, Leland Vittert, Dan Abrams, and Ashleigh Banfield, as it works to compete more directly with Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC.[/read]
