JUST IN: Walz had ‘secret fling’ with daughter of Chinese Communist Party official, report says
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz had a “secret fling” with the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party (CCP) official in 1989, according to TheDailyMail.com.
The relationship allegedly occurred while Gov. Walz was teaching in China and prior to him becoming governor. Jenna Wang, the daughter of CCP official Bin Hui, reportedly told the publication Walz “showered her with gifts” during his time there.
Each reportedly fought to keep the relationship under wraps due to Chinese cultural norms and Gov. Walz’s desire to not risk association with the CCP. The relationship reportedly led Wang to wonder if they would ever get married.
Walz, however, never proposed, according to TheDailyMail.com. Wang reportedly said the relationship left her feeling “like a prostitute,” leading her to become angry and suicidal.
“Tim was very passionate and very romantic,” Wang reportedly said of Gov. Walz. “I can still remember dancing with him to our favorite song, Careless Whisper. The fact we couldn’t touch or kiss in public just made it all the more exciting and intense when we were finally alone.”
