Trump lawyer Mike Davis recently sent a firm warning to New York Attorney General Letitia James, urging her to cease the “lawfare” against the president. Davis made the remarks during an appearance on conservative commentator Benny Johnson’s show, in which he vowed to throw James in jail if her legal antics continued.
Davis began, “Let me just say this to big Tish James the New York Attorney General. I dare you, I dare you to try to continue your lawfare against President Trump in his second term. Because listen here, sweetheart, we’re not messing around this and we will put your fat a** in prison for conspiracy against rights and I promise you that.”
“So think long and hard before you want to violate President Trump’s constitutional rights, or any other Americans’ constitutional rights. We it’s not going to happen again,” Davis emphasized. Johnson weighed in, “We’ve been warning people on the show, Mike, this isn’t the same Trump administration. Stop messing around. Don’t rig elections. Don’t illegally vote. Don’t try the funny business, because we know the team this time and they are not effing around.”
Johnson further described Davis’ comments as a “dark warning” to James. The New York attorney general has also been the subject of other scrutiny from the Trump administration as Attorney General Pam Bondi recently brought a lawsuit against her and other state officials over their failure to enforce immigration policy.
Bondi recently addressed the situation at a CPAC event, in which she was described as the “new sheriff” in town who had just sued New York Governor Kathy Hochul alongside Letitia James. She said , “And so we started, of course, with Illinois. Chicago, and the state of Illinois. And what did we say? ‘If you don’t listen, you’re next. You’re going to follow federal law.’”
Calling out New York, she said, “And New York ignored us, and they were next. And then if you’re another state, and you’re not listening, we’re speaking loud and clear, you’re going to be next. It’s pretty basic.” Bondi continued, “We want to protect the citizens of not only their states, but every state in this country, you know. And when you’re seeing just New York alone, Benny, look at all the violent crime happening. Look on the subways, look on the streets.”
Furthermore, legal analyst Betsy McCaughey described Bondi’s case as a “slam dunk.” She disagreed with Gov. Hocul’s claims that the lawsuit from Bondi will be a “total failure.” Pushing back, McCaughey wrote, “Hochul is dead wrong about the merits of the lawsuit. It’s a slam dunk for the Justice Department under the letter of the US Constitution.”
