An agent inside the Federal Bureau of Investigation was tipping off members of a brutal Venezuelan gang so they could escape capture by U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement, White House border czar Tom Homan revealed on Monday.
Speaking with Sean Hannity on Fox News, Homan said he and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem have very likely identified the culprit, who will not only lose their job, but likely their pension as well. In addition, they may face jail time for obstructing a federal investigation.
“We think it’s coming from inside” the FBI, Homan said about recent leaks to members of Tren de Aragua in Aurora, Colorado and Los Angeles, California, where they have been terrorizing local residents.
“We know the first leak in Aurora is under current investigation. We think we’ve identified that person under investigation. Right now, the California leak, Secretary Noem, she’s correct – some of the information we’re receiving tends to lead toward the FBI,” he said.
Further discussions with Deputy U.S. Attorney General Emil Bove have led to the launch of a criminal investigation, one that may further damage the Bureau’s reputation at a critical time.
Homan added: “They have promised that not only will this person lose their job and lose their pension, they’re going to go to jail. They will criminally prosecute.”
Noem has blasted “deep state agents” within the FBI for disrupting raids on the deadly Venezuelan gang. On Friday, the Los Angeles Times reported that a “large scale” raid was coming to the city by the end of the month, citing an internal government document.
“The FBI is so corrupt,” she wrote on X. “We will work with any and every agency to stop leaks and prosecute these crooked deep state agents to the fullest extent of the law.”
