Michael Jordan would have waited for them to finish the National Anthem before taking his seat. LeBron James did not, and he caught the wrath of UFC 296’s Colby Covington.
Some of you are probably wondering what social issue LeBron was virtue signaling about. There have been no stories the media has blown out of perception to start a race war lately. They haven’t dug up a sixty-five-year-old photo since last year. Was Lebron protesting the lack of respect the black community is showing Joe Biden? No one knows what’s going on in LeBron’s brain. They just wait for him to flop to try and draw a foul.
It looks like James wasn’t protesting when he showed up to his son Bronny’s first basketball game at USC, as much as he’s just an inconsiderate douche.
Unamused by it was pro-America UFC fighter Colby Covington. Not known for holding his tongue, Covington suggested a different country if James hates it here so much. Ironically, it’s also the one political issue James shuts up and dribbles about.
“If you hate America so much and you don’t like this country that gave you a billion dollars, leave it,” screamed Colby, “or come deal with me. Go to China, go to these sweatshops where you employ all these laborers and use these women and pay them pennies on the dollar to make your millions.”
