LAS VEGAS (TND) — Music icons Taylor Swift and Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, may have added another chapter to their long-standing feud Sunday.
Swift allegedly had Ye removed from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas before Super Bowl 58. Ye had allegedly tried to leverage Swift’s cameo appearances during the television broadcast of the game by purchasing seats directly in front of her.
Former NFL wide receiver Brandon Marshall, 39, explained the drama on I Am Athlete’s “Paper Route” podcast.
“Kanye West pulls up to Vegas, Kanye West buys a ticket right in front of [Taylor Swift’s] booth,” Marshall said. “So any time they were going to be showing [Taylor Swift], Kanye’s face was going to be there.”
“Taylor Swift gets p—ed off, she makes a call or two, everybody’s involved. He gets kicked out of the stadium. He was trying to leverage her celebrity [status],” Marshall said.
A representative for Ye denied these claims, however, telling TMZ Tuesday Marshall’s allegations are “a completely fabricated rumor. It is not true.” Footage from social media also appears to show Ye in attendance at Sunday’s big game with musicians Anderson .Paak and Ty Dolla $ign.
Ye recently name-dropped Swift in the song “Carnival” from his new album “Vultures 1,” rapping “I made six Taylor Swift since I had the Rollie on the wrist.”
The two artists have been at odds with one another since 2009 when Ye interrupted Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video at the VMAs to argue Beyoncé should have won the award instead. Ye referred to the incident in his song “Famous” in 2015, claiming he is responsible for Swift’s fame.
The rapper is also currently at odds with singer Ozzy Osbourne, who accused Ye of sampling his song “Iron Man” against his wishes.
