Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton secured a major victory in the Republican Senate primary after defeating longtime incumbent Sen. John Cornyn with strong support from conservative voters and an endorsement from President Donald Trump.
Paxton won the race by a wide margin, earning roughly 64 percent of the vote compared to Cornyn’s 36 percent, according to early election results. The outcome marks one of the most closely watched Republican primary contests of the election cycle.
Throughout the campaign, Paxton positioned himself as a strong supporter of the America First movement and emphasized issues such as border security, election integrity, and conservative legislative priorities. Trump’s endorsement also played a significant role in energizing voters ahead of the primary.
