BREAKING: VERDICT REACHED IN PRAIRIELAND ICE ATTACK TRIAL

A federal jury in Fort Worth has delivered a verdict in the case involving the July 4, 2025 attack on the Prairieland ICE Detention Center in Texas.

Benjamin Hanil Song (former Marine reservist) was found GUILTY of attempted murder after prosecutors said he shot Alvarado Police Lt. Thomas Gross in the neck during the attack.

Eight other defendants were found guilty of charges including rioting, providing material support to terrorists, and explosives offenses.

Several additional suspects previously pleaded guilty to related material-support charges.
Prosecutors said the group used fireworks as a diversion to lure officers outside before gunfire erupted. Lt. Gross survived the shooting and has since returned to duty.

Sentencing is expected June 2026.
