Breaking details have emerged regarding the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin at the Mar-a-Lago estate early Sunday morning.

According to authorities, the North Carolina man entered the secured perimeter of the Palm Beach, Florida property at approximately 1:30 a.m. while carrying a shotgun and a gas can. Officials said he accessed the grounds through a gate as another vehicle was exiting the estate.

When confronted by U.S. Secret Service agents, Martin allegedly raised the firearm. Law enforcement officers then discharged their weapons. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No agents or deputies were injured during the incident.

Martin, who was from Cameron, North Carolina, had reportedly been listed as missing by family members several hours before the breach. Authorities have stated that he did not have a prior criminal record.

Former President Donald Trump and former First Lady Melania Trump were not at the property at the time of the incident. They were attending an event in Washington, D.C., according to officials.

The FBI is leading the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding the breach, including Martin’s background and possible motive. Officials say the review remains active, and additional details will be released as they become available.
