JUST IN / Bongino Reveals 3 Possibilities In Nancy Guthrie Case

Former FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino outlined several possible explanations for the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie, noting that the lack of clear evidence has forced investigators to consider a wider range of scenarios as the case continues. Speaking Monday on Fox News’ Hannity, Bongino said the limited forensic and digital trail has complicated efforts to determine what may have happened.

Bongino described three broad possibilities investigators may be weighing. The first is a traditional kidnapping carried out with the intent of securing a ransom. The second involves a different crime, such as a burglary, that may have escalated unexpectedly, with later ransom demands potentially unrelated to the original incident. He explained that such situations can occur when individuals attempt to exploit confusion surrounding a high-profile disappearance.

The third scenario, which Bongino described as difficult but necessary to consider, is that the disappearance may not involve a planned crime at all. He suggested investigators must also examine whether a medical emergency or other non-criminal event could have been misinterpreted as an abduction based on limited or incomplete information. Bongino emphasized that these possibilities arise largely because expected indicators — such as surveillance footage, digital tracking data, or confirmed proof of life — have not emerged.

Nancy Guthrie, the mother of Today show co-host Savannah Guthrie, went missing earlier this month from her Arizona home. Authorities have confirmed suspicious circumstances at the residence, and multiple agencies, including the FBI, are involved in the investigation. As the search continues, officials have not ruled out any possibilities and continue to ask the public to report any information that could assist in determining what happened.
