Everyone has bad days, but it’s especially tough when one of them is your birthday. A Reddit user recounted a particularly bad birthday they had — not because they wanted to share details on the bad parts but because of what turned the day around in the best way possible. It all started when they decided to order pizza from a local restaurant after a bad birthday
In the Reddit post, we can see a photo of their receipt. What stands out the most are the instructions they included, specifically for their pizza. The sad Reddit user was hoping that the pizza maker could save their birthday, even a little, with their unusual request.
Receipt with the request that an employee used to save a stranger’s birthday. It reads:
It’s my birthday and not even my family called me. I’m sad and I really like olives. Please put on as many black olives as you can. I want you to put on so many black olives that you start to question mine and your own sanity. As much as you can include without being fired. Thank you.

In hopes of saving this sad strangers birthday, the restaurant employee who took this unique request did exactly as they were asked. As someone who is also a big fan of black olives, I am very much impressed with how this pizza turned out and approve of it wholeheartedly.
This once sad Reddit user couldn’t agree more. They shared a photo of the pizza as well and, in it, a drawing of a birthday cake can be seen inside the lid. Included are the words “happy birthday,” written in both English and Spanish.
The pizza an employee made at the unique request of a customer that saved their birthday. The pizza is absolutely covered in black olives. To the side is a small container with more black olives. Inside the lid of the pizza is a drawing of a cake with “happy birthday” in English and Spanish.

Many have noted that, in addition to the massive pile of olives on the pizza, the employee took things a step further by including an extra container full of them. You know, in case there wasn’t enough on the pizza.
“I had a crappy birthday but my local pizza place had my back,” the Reddit user wrote.
In following through on such an odd request, this restaurant employee saved this stranger’s birthday. How cool is that!?
