An active shooter was reported at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville (U of A) around 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 25, according to a U of A alert system.An alleged shooter was reported near Mullins Library. U of A has confirmed that UAPD was on campus and is currently evacuating students. Fayetteville police tell 5NEWS that they are also on scene, clearing the library. There are currently no reported injuries.
Razorback Stadium was reportedly placed on lockdown. A new report sent at 1:30 p.m. said that authorities are “responding to multiple reports around campus.”Fayetteville Public Schools has announced that all schools in the city have been put in “secure status,” meaning no one can come or go from any campuses.
The Fayetteville Police Department (FPD) announced around 1:45 p.m. that there were no confirmed gunshots or injuries on the U of A campus at that time.FPD said that they received multiple different calls and reports about suspicious behavior, but no arrests have been made.
