Sen. John Thune continues to block Trump from making any appointments during the Senate’s 6 week summer vacation, allowed Schiff to be on key committees, and hasn’t brought the SAVE election integrity bill to a vote

Senate Majority Leader John Thune continues to block President Donald Trump’s agenda from moving forward by holding 2 minute Pro-forma sessions.
Thune is blaming other senators for not providing the votes needed to completely adjourn (he wants a bi-partisen agreement)
This means Trump can’t make any recess appointments.
Meanwhile a backlog in the hundreds of key nominees remain unconfirmed and most of Trump’s Executive orders have not been codified.
Many are now saying Thune is refusing to use the majority’s power against a minority party (Democrats) that have been accused of unprecedented filibustering.
Thune has also not shown any plans to censure or remove California Democrat Adam Schiff from his committee assignments.
Even though he’s been implicated in the recent declassification of documents surrounding the Russia-Gate scandal carried out by the Obama administration.
Schiff, now a freshman senator, secured spots on key committees earlier this year, including:
➡️Agriculture,
➡️Environment and Public Works,
➡️Judiciary, and Small Business and ➡️Entrepreneurship,
with no pushback from Republican leadership.
He was allowed in the committees despite being censured by congress for lying to the American people during the Russia investigations.
This as the SAVE Act – which will require proof of citizenship to vote in federal elections, has sat untouched on his desk since its introduction despite passing the House
Thune has a history of criticizing Trump – which many say is evidence of being part of the establishment.
🔺️After January 6 Thune said Trump’s actions were “inexcusable” and said he was responsible, and should resign
🔺️He voted to certify the 2020 election results
🔺️He defended fellow Republicans who supported impeachment
🔺️He labeled criticism from Trump allies as “cancel culture” tactics that undermined party unity.
🔺️He has faced criticism for being too aligned with leader Mitch McConnell and allowing Democratic overreach
