In an explosive twist, William Barr, former U.S. attorney general under President Donald Trump, reportedly joined forces with Democratic prosecutor Fani Willis in a secretive bid to stop Trump from returning to the White House.
Whistleblower Patrícia Lélis, who worked closely with media figure Armstrong Williams, claims to have attended dozens of private meetings where Barr, Willis, and others plotted legal strategies targeting Trump and his allies.
The plan reportedly aimed to cripple Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign through the Georgia RICO prosecution that charged Trump and 18 co-defendants with attempting to overturn the state’s 2020 election results.
Lélis provided Project Veritas with detailed handwritten notes from meetings held between 2021 and 2023 in Washington, D.C., exposing the inner workings of the operation, per Trending Politics.
One notable meeting on Sept. 6, 2021 included Barr and CNN commentator Shermichael Singleton, during which the group devised a media strategy to accompany Congress’ Jan. 6 investigation.
According to Lélis’s notes, Barr outlined a broad list of targets closely tied to Trump, including Steve Bannon, Rudy Giuliani, Stewart Rhodes, Enrique Tarrio, Jeffrey Clark, the Oath Keepers, and the Proud Boys.
Many of these figures later faced subpoenas from the Jan. 6 committee, illustrating Barr’s behind-the-scenes influence following his public break with Trump.
Photographs from March 2022 reveal Barr entering Sinclair Broadcast Group where he met Willis and federal prosecutor Jack Smith to discuss forthcoming charges. Smith’s case centers on Trump’s alleged mishandling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.
