Kamala Harris Shares Candid Message in Rare Public Appearance After Months of Silence

Kamala Harris Delivers Uplifting Message on Courage and Resilience at Women’s Summit

Former Vice President Kamala Harris made a rare public appearance this week, speaking at the Leading Women Defined Summit in California. Her message? A powerful call for courage, self-reflection, and the strength of community in times of uncertainty.

While she’s kept a low profile in recent months, Harris returned to the stage with a personal and heartfelt speech aimed at encouraging leaders—especially women—to embrace their voices, even when facing fear or doubt.

“Courage is contagious,” she said, repeating the phrase more than once as the audience nodded along. Harris emphasized that courage doesn’t mean the absence of fear, but rather the willingness to speak up and act even when fear is present.

“Real courage is saying, ‘I feel afraid, and I’m still going to do what I believe is right,’” Harris explained. “It’s standing up not just for yourself, but for others who may not yet feel strong enough to stand.”

The summit, attended by women from diverse industries, was filled with stories of leadership, transformation, and purpose. Harris praised the collective power of women working together and encouraged them to use their influence for positive change—whether in boardrooms, classrooms, or communities.

“Sometimes the strongest leaders are the ones who quietly lift others,” she said. “The ones who ask, ‘What do you need?’ or ‘How can I help you shine?’”

She also touched on how people today may feel uncertain or even overwhelmed by the pace of change around them, but urged everyone not to let that fear silence their voice. Instead, she urged the room to view these moments as opportunities for deeper connection, action, and leadership.

“We can’t control everything that happens around us, but we can control how we respond,” she said. “And when we respond with purpose, with empathy, and with unity, we make space for real progress.”

Harris ended her speech by encouraging everyone to support one another more intentionally and to lead with authenticity and compassion. “Every time you speak up, every time you encourage someone else to keep going—you create a ripple. And those ripples build waves of change.”

The audience gave a standing ovation, not just for the speech, but for the reminder that sometimes the most powerful messages are rooted in simple truths: kindness, bravery, and unity
