BREAKING: Republican Senator Roger Wicker drops a bombshell in the SignalGate scandal — reveals that he believes that information shared in the unsecured MAGA group chat should have been “classified.”
This is a death blow to the MAGA “no big deal” narrative…
“The information as published recently appears to me to be of such a sensitive nature that, based on my knowledge, I would have wanted it classified,” Wicker stated.
Wicker is the Chair of the Senate Armed Service Committee and has already stated that the committee will be investigating the scandal.
The information in question was shared in a Signal group chat that included Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Vice President J.D. Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
At some point, the Editor-in-Chief of The Atlantic was accidentally added to the chat, giving him direct access to all of the sensitive information.
Included in that information were the times that fighter jets would be taking off to hit the Houthis in Yemen, as well as intel on drone strikes. If our adversaries had gained access to these details, American lives could have been lost.
Trump, CIA Director John Ratcliffe, and DNI Gabbard have all insisted that the information was not classified.
“I make a lot of mistakes in my life, and I’ve found that it’s best when I just own up to them and say, ‘I’m human. I made a mistake,’ and I’m glad in this case, no real damage was done,” said Senator Wicker. “I think that that’s probably going to be the approach of the administration right up to the president.”
“The fact is that the plans for the strike, the timing, the locations, were not revealed to the enemy, and it was a very successful operation,” he added. “If early on in this administration, there were mistakes, I would hope they can be rectified.”
He also stated that he and Senator Jack Reed, the top Democrat on his committee, are calling for Trump to expedite an inspector general report to the committee.
