Senate Democrats are finally showing some backbone and refusing to pass it, setting the stage for a possible shutdown as the Friday deadline looms.

The House measure, endorsed by Donald Trump, extends funding for six months. However, Democrats argue it was drafted without bipartisan input and serves as a blank check for Trump’s power grab over federal spending.

Schumer is pushing for a shorter, one-month continuing resolution (CR) that would keep the government running while allowing time for negotiations on a fairer, bipartisan budget.
